Growing up as a single child in rural Waikato was where the love and passion for Rugby started for Jesse Wood, however suffering an ACL injury at 16 forced him to take a different path in the Rugby industry. 

After studying for a few years, he secured a job at the NZ Herald as a journalist. Off the back of his love for Rugby and stats, he created Rugby Mashup; an Instagram page dedicated to Rugby content no one has seen before.
